Since opening our doors in 1934, Ladysmith Federal Savings and Loan Association has grown from a small association focused on mortgages, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and share loans into a full-service local financial institution. The Rest is History
Ladysmith Federal Savings and Loan Association first opened its doors in 1934, during a time when savings and loan associations played an important role in helping families save money, buy homes, and build financial stability close to home. When Ladysmith Federal began, the association had a small staff of only one and focused on providing mortgages, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and share loans to local customers.
Our history is closely tied to the community we serve. Ladysmith grew from strong Northwoods roots, shaped first by logging and later by farming. The area developed near the Flambeau River, which helped support the early logging industry, and farming became increasingly important after much of the timber was harvested. As the needs of local families, farms, and businesses changed over time, Ladysmith Federal continued to grow alongside the community.
For more than 90 years, Ladysmith Federal has remained locally focused, mutually owned, and committed to personal service. What started as a small savings and loan association has grown into a full-service financial institution.
