Our Financial Literacy programs are designed to help people of all ages develop important money management skills. From children & teens learning ways to save to adults & seniors mastering credit and financial safety, we offer engaging, hands-on experiences led by banker volunteers. Together, we’re building a brighter financial future.
Teach Children to Save Program
Helping the Next Generation Develop Lifelong Savings Habits.
Teach Children to Save is a national program from the American Bankers Association where materials are provided and updated each year for banker volunteers to visit classrooms to teach children the importance of saving money. This program is geared towards K-8th grade levels.

Elementary K - 2nd Grade
National Teach Children to Save Day: Teach Children to Save habits. The program consists of a 30-minute volunteer banker lead session where children are read a story about saving money followed by a group discussion covering the lesson and theme of the story. Rusk County students participate in this program each year on the fourth week in April, however the program can be requested at any time.Day encourages children to develop good saving- Saving for a Rainy Day Lesson
